Digital Climate Advisory Services Online event 8 November 2021 | #COP26.

    Digital Climate Advisory Services (DCAS) offer small holder farmers the opportunity to mitigate the risks of a changing climate and associated extreme weather-related events. Farmers need good and actionable location-specific advice based on quality climate and agronomic data and efficient data infrastructures, delivered through sustainable services and customized communication channels.  During COP-26, two side events will take place that you shouldn’t miss if you want to know more about real-life experiences and forthcoming calls for action on Digital Climate Advisory Services.

    Both events will take place on November 8th, 2021. The first one will be online only and the second one in presence and online.

    The first EU side event (10-11 GMT) is entitled ‘Digital Climate Advisory Services: bridging the divide between science, policy and practice’.  Organized by Wageningen University and Research, the World Resource Institute, and the World Food Programme, this event will take you through three cornerstone initiatives on (i) effective science-policy interfaces in food and climate, (ii) the ‘Blueprint for Climate Informed Digital Advisory Services’ and (iii) the recently launched ‘Digital Agri Hub’.     The second event being organized by the Commonwealth Secretariat under the Commonwealth Connectivity Agenda (CCA) in collaboration with the Government of Vanuatu and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) will take place at 12:30 – 14:00 GMT. It will offer al deep dive into the policy implications for data infrastructure to support DCAS. In person attendance is possible at the Commonwealth Pavilion, Blue Zone, SEC.
