History of the Extravaganza – On December 2, 2012, the Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry held its first-ever Christmas Extravaganza. The event began at 9:00 a.m., with thirty companies displaying their products and services in forty-eight booths. Approximately 4,000 people rushed to the Princess Hotel & Casino’s King’s Room in search of the perfect Christmas gift for their loved ones as well as a fun time with their families. The room was filled with various vendors offering great deals and promotions on home goods, phones, electronic gadgets, Christmas decorations, jewelry, clothes, rums and wines, makeup, local rum popo, black cake, and much more.
Over the years, the Christmas Extravaganza has steadily expanded into one of the Chamber’s signature year-end events. By diversifying its offerings, the exhibition evolved into more than just a shopping destination – it became a community experience where families could enjoy entertainment, raffles, giveaways, and seasonal delights, while connecting with local entrepreneurs. From small startups to well-established companies, the Extravaganza provided a platform for businesses of all sizes to showcase their products, build brand visibility, and engage directly with thousands of consumers ahead of the holiday season. Today, the Christmas Extravaganza continues to be a beloved tradition that ushers in the holiday spirit, while supporting the growth and visibility of Belizean businesses.
