Brief History

On June 8, 2009, the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) embarked on a new initiative to give a voice to its membership with the creation of its first ever radio/television show – Business Perspective. Through a partnership with R.S.V. Ltd. at the time, viewers looked forward to watching the show every Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. where various topics were discussed – Crime, Contraband, Review of Auditor General’s Report, Returnable Containers Bill, just to name a few. After a period of time, the show became difficult to sustain; hence, the reason why the show went on hiatus. After a couple of months, the show was reintroduced through a new relationship with Idealab Studios and it was broadcasted every Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. on Channel 5.The show would continue until 2012 where it was discontinued as we faced other challenges in sustaining.

In the third quarter of 2017, the secretariat was strengthened with capacitated resources and we entered a new partnership with Love FM/TV. Every Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m Love FM/TV’s morning show features the new BCCI Business Perspective (Morning Show) with co-hosts BCCI’s Past Past President Ms. Kay Menzies,  and Mr. Dyon A. Elliott, BCCI’s chief policy analyst. The Business Perspective Show was back with a new vision to discuss issues relevant to doing business in Belize, and achieving sustainable growth and development of the Belizean economy. The show is designed to highlight business success stories, giving space to business owners to share their views on current events and provide advice to upcoming entrepreneurs.

The Business Perspective Morning Show was recommenced on October 3rd, 2017 and the last show for 2017 ended on December 5th. In 2018 we continue our schedule.

The BCCI is grateful to Love FM/TV, our special guests on the show, stakeholders who supported us with research data, and to our members and viewers for following us on the show. Your comments and feedback have been invaluable and we do hope in 2018 we can deliver a series of shows that continue to serve your needs.
