The Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the International Labour Organization (ILO) Employers Representative in Belize, is a member of the Caribbean Employers’ Confederation (CEC) which is currently gathering information from the private sectors across the region on their knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding social dialogue. The CEC is a beneficiary of an EU-sponsored project to promote social dialogue and by having the input from its members, resources can be allocated to carry out technical assistance programs to promote social dialogue.

ILO definition of Social dialogue – “Social dialogue is defined by the ILO to include all types of negotiation, consultation or simply exchange of information between, or among, representatives of governments, employers and workers, on issues of common interest relating to economic and social policy. It can exist as a tripartite process, with the government as an official party to the dialogue or it may consist of bipartite relations only between labour and management (or trade unions and employers' organizations), with or without indirect government involvement.” For more information you can visit the following link  http://www.ilo.org/ifpdial/areas-of-work/social-dialogue/lang--en/index.htm
